UCPN (M) Vice Chair Shrestha to attend China Silk Road Summit

KATHMANDU, Oct 12: UCPN (Maoist) Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha is leaving for China on a four-day visit on Tuesday.

He will attend the Silk Road Reconstruction Special Summit to be held between October 14-16 at the initiation of Communist Party of China.


Earlier, the UCPN (Maoist) party had decided to send Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to Beijing to attend the conference of the political parties of the Asian countries.

Shrestha is leaving for China after Dahal got involved in making decision whom to send to the new government from the party.

Chiefs of over 50 political parties and governments of Asian countries are expected to participate in the conference.

'Silk Road Revival Project' has been initiated by establishing a fund of USD 40 billion with a view to connecting Asia and Europe.
