Two missing as truck plunges in Trishuli

DHADING, Dec 25: Two people have been feared dead after a truck with Indian number plate they were traveling in plunged into the Trishuli River on Monday night.



The truck heading to Birgunj from Kathmandu fell some 200 meters down into the river at Gajuri section of Prithvi Highway of Dhading at around 11 pm last night.[break]



According to Binod Ghimire, inspector at the Area Police Office in Gajuri, Dhading, two persons including the truck driver identified as Shankar Nepali of Kolkata, India and a Nepali citizen whose identification is yet to be ascertained have gone missing in the River.



Injured assistant driver identified as Anand Agrawal has been undergoing treatment at the Gajuri Hospital.



Meanwhile, Nepal police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army personnel have been deputed at the incident site for the search and rescue operation.
