Two killed in truck-motorcycle collision in Lalitpur

Both were seriously injured in the accident and died during treatment at Alka Hospital, according to the police.

KATHMANDU, April 8: Two people riding a motorcycle were killed after being hit by a truck in Thasikhel, Lalitpur, on Tuesday.



The accident occurred on a road in Lalitpur Metropolitan City–14, Thasikhel, when a truck (Ma Pra 03-001 Kha 8068) collided with a motorcycle (AAA 3542).

The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old motorcycle rider Bidur Gurung, a resident of Sanepa, Lalitpur Metropolitan City–2, originally from Sunsari and his 85-year-old mother, Dhanmaya Gurung, who was riding pillion.


Both were seriously injured in the accident and died during treatment at Alka Hospital, according to the police. 


Police have taken the truck driver into custody and are conducting further investigation.
