At a programme organised by South Asia Peace Initiative “Realizing South Asian Dream: Democracy, Peace and Development´, chief guest Dr Bhattarai further said the deficit of mistrust among the South Asian regional nations is a bottleneck to the development in the region. [break]
´Peace, democracy and development are interrelated. Peace is fundamental prerequisite for development of all types and manifestations´, he said, adding that everyone is longing for peace but genuine and sustainable peace is still a farfetched idea.
He went on saying that election is a must to institutionalize the achievements of all revolutions & people’s movements in Nepal and that they are committed to holding the election on the scheduled date in a genuinely free, fair and credible manner.
The elections will be held and the representatives of the people would write a new constitution heralding a new era of peace, democracy and prosperity in Nepal, he claimed.
