Leaders of various political parties, diplomats, civil society members and a large number of party cadres and commoners attended the 13th day function at Bankali, Pashupati.
Prime Minister, ministers, Indian Yoga Guru Ram Dev, Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal anjd Vice Chairmen Dr Baburam Bhattarai and Mohan Baidya, UML leader Jhala Nath Khanal, top leaders of other political parties and bureaucrats also attended the function.
Thousands of party cadres and well-wishers had reached Bankali to take part in the function. The late Koirala´s daughter Sujata had arranged prasad (food) for the visiting people.
The NC is set to hold a condolence meeting at Khulla Manch in Kathmandu on Saturday.
Thinley pays last respects
Bhutanese Prime Minister Jigme Y Thinley arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday to attend the function. He offered floral tributes to the late Koirala´s image at Bankali.
Nitish barred
Indian central government denied permission to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to visit Nepal to attend the function, Indian media reports said. According to his office, he was invited by Sujata to attend the function.
