Jointly inaugurating Sindhupalchowk Festival that started in Chautara on Saturday UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, senior Nepali Congress (NC) leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN -UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal hailed the November 1 agreement and expressed commitment to settle the disputes in the constitution writing and peace process through political consensus.[break]
The leaders claimed that the agreement has created an environment of trust among the parties and vowed to formulate a democratic and egalitarian constitution.
“My party and I will do whatever is required for the completion of the process of peace and constitution drafting,” Dahal promised and added that the aspirations of the Nepali people would be fulfilled soon.
Khanal said the parties have ultimately reached consensus even if they took more time than desired and hoped that the process would gain momentum.
Khanal added that the November 1 agreement has raised hopes and claimed that the three main disputes over state restructuring, system of governance and electoral system would also be settled through consensus.

NC leader Deuba lauded the role of UCPN (Maoist) in the constitution writing and peace process and claimed that his party remains committed to lasting peace, constitution and development.
“The seven-point agreement and consensus on formation of state re-structuring commission has created an environment of trust among the parties,” Deuba said.
