KATHMANDU, Aug 29: A meeting of the three main political parties--Nepali Congress (NC), UCPN (Maoist) and CPN-UML-- held at New Baneshwor on Wednesday morning has decided to entrust the top leaders with splitting differences among political parties.
Emerging from the meeting, NC leader Minendra Rijal, said that the meeting showed positive indications of ending the existing political impasse. “Efforts were made to make the talks fruitful giving up on stances of the parties,” Rijal added.[break]
Likewise, UCPN (Maoist) spokesperson Agni Sapkota said party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal would float an agenda of reinstating of the dissolved Constituent Assembly or ,alternatively, going for new elections in the today’s three party meeting scheduled later today.
Also, talking to reporters, CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel stressed on the need of exercising flexibility by political parties on their respective stances to streamline their differences and give the country a political outlet.
UCPN-Maoist’s Dahal, Sapkota and Amik Serchan, CPN-UML’s Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhalanath Khanal and Pokharel, NC’s Rijal, Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, Ram Chandra Paudel and Sushil Koirala were present in the meeting.
