KATHMANDU, Oct 5 :Singha Art Gallery at the Patan Industrial Area is seeing an exhibition of paintings since September 28. Organized by Alfresco Media and Event, it is the fifth edition of their art exhibition and competition. The competition features the works of more than 100 participants, including students and senior artists.



Titled Alfresco Open Art and Photography Exhibition cum Competition 2013, the motto of the exhibition is ‘An Open Platform for Youngsters’ and aims toward bridging the gap between the generations of the artists, and promoting new and upcoming talents.



The exhibition was inaugurated by Ambica Shrestha, the President of Nepal Heritage Society and Federation of Business and Professional Women Nepal (FBPWH), and Honorary Consul of Spain. She also distributed prizes and certificates to the winners and participants.



Shyam Krishna Shrestha, the President and Coordinator of the exhibition shared that he wants to impose moral values among the youths through such events.



Gehendra Man Amatya, the Chief Judge of the competition, mentioned that the competition has been very helpful for the students as it has encouraged them to keep on using their creativity for expressing their feelings.



The works are on display till October 10 and the price of the paintings range from Rs 1,000 to Rs 150,000.



The team is still collecting photos for the photography competition, which will be held after a month.
