KATHMANDU, June 25: The Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) raised its concerns over media reports saying that the linguistic information of Madhesi people had wrongly been filled out on the census forms during the ongoing national consensus

Issuing a press statement, the TMDP said enumerators duped the Madhesi people by making them write ‘Nepali’ in the section of the form allotted for furnishing details about their mother tongue and that the enumerators even left the space blank, so that later on they could fill it out for themselves with the information they wanted.[break]

In the statement, the TMDP has demanded that such acts be promptly stopped, saying that such an activity inspired by unfair mentality would not make the consensus scientific and would not help in development plans and the state restructuring process.
