TMDP President Mahantha Thakur and Vice-president Hridayesh Tripathi jointly made the appeal after Yadav and Chaudhary split the party to form TMDP-Nepal a few days ago. [break]
"We met the PM in the morning and gave him a written notice requesting to remove them from their posts," Tripathi told Republica. Brijesh Kumar Gupta, TMDP chief whip, claimed the party can request the PM to relieve them [Yadav and Chaudhary] of their responsibilities as it was the party that had recommended them for the ministerial posts.
"The prime minister was positive to our request," added Gupta. Responding to the appeal, the PM, it is learnt, said that he would take a decision after holding consultations with President Dr Ram Baran Yadav.
Yadav, on Friday morning, had registered TMDP-N at the Constituent Assembly secretariat, splitting the mother party with the support of nine lawmakers. The newly formed party is due to be registered at the Election Commission.
