Majhuwa Deurali Police Post has informed that the smugglers would get the firewood license and enter the forests where they would cut trees and send to different districts from various points of the district. [break]
The authorities concerned have not paid any interest to control the smuggling.
Police smell the cat over the representatives of Chambers of Commerce and Industries, members of construction entrepreneurs and leader of local political parties for the deforestation.
A police personal said around 13 truckloads of timbers would be smuggled mostly to Chitwan and Kathmandu.
However, Gorkha District Forest Officer Durga Bahadur Karki claimed that only the firewood and substandard wood is being supplied to different place from the district instead of timbers.
