KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Three more Madhes-centric political parties are set to join the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) that has been protesting the new constitution.

The decision to that effect was taken following a meeting between UDMF and Federal inclusive Madhesi Coalition at the Bijulibazaar-based office of Tarai Madhesh Democratic Party (TMDP).

“A formal announcement will be made amidst a press conference on Friday,” said a source close to the development.

Out of four political parties in the coalition, Rastriya Madhes Samajwadi Party, Nepal Sadhbhawana Party and Madhesi People’s Right Forum Ganatantrik, which represent in the parliament, will be part of UMDF.

The Jaya Prakash Gupta-led Tarai Madhes Rastriya Abhiyan was left out from the UDMF as it doesn’t have any lawmaker in the parliament.
