Chairman of NEFIN Rajkumar Lekhi said his organization will come up with future strategy following the three-day conference. [break]
"The conference will issue a declaration regarding indigenous issues and the present political deadlock in the nation," Lekhi said.
According to him, indigenous leaders from various political parties, representatives from NEFIN´s 71 district coordination councils and indigenous youth and student wings will participate in the gathering.
Similarly, representatives from 56 constituent organizations of NEFIN will take part in the gathering.
"We have been publicizing the event through mass gatherings and meetings across the country," Lekhi informed.
NEFIN has been organizing mass gatherings across the country to "expose anti-ethnicity-based federalist political parties" and their leaders since mid-June. "So, far we have concluded gatherings in eight districts urging peoples to boycott the leaders and political parties who are against identity-based federalism," he said.
NEFIN has identified severa parties, including Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML, Rastriya Janamorcha as "anti-ethnicity-based federalist political parties" while it has termed NC President Sushil Koirala, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN-UML Chairman Jalanath Khanal and Chairman of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Democratic Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar as ´anti-ethnicity-based federalist´ leaders.
