The bus, carrying 15 foreigners, turned back to bus park from Prtihwichowk after officials from PHBEC threatened to vandalize it.
NATTA president, Kedar Sharma said that, “We called off the service today fearing harm to tourists, but we are determined to operate the service.” He said domestic tourist should be also be allowed in the tourist bus as the definition of tourist covers foreigners as well as locals.
On the other hand, PHBEC officials claimed that their demand was legal and they had requested local administration to coordinate with them. Gyanu K.C of the committee said that tourism entrepreneurs were trying to dump old green plated vehicles in the name of launching service to Pokhara-Chitwan route.
Following continuous protest of the committee, the service launched on Monday has not been able to operate smoothly.
