PALPA, May 1: UCPN (Maoist) leader Top Bahadur Rayamajhi said on Tuesday that few leaders from his party are not acting responsibly on the twin tasks of peace and constitution drafting.

Speaking to media persons in Palpa, where he has reached to attend a program organized to commemorate the May Day, Rayamajhi said the radical faction of the party led by Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya are bent on disrupting peace and constitution drafting processes.

Rayamajhi, also minister for local development, said this is not the time to return to revolt but to protect the gains achieved through various mass movements in the past.

Stating that not all leaders in the Baidya faction are dishonest, Rayamajhi said the Maoist party would not split and further warned that those wishing to break away from the party have no future.

The Maoist leader also said the current tussle is between those standing for and those against the peace and constitution writing processes and asserted that the new statute will be promulgated within the deadline under the incumbent government.
