Though it’s hard to trust the Netas of Nepal there is no alternative to waiting for a piece of cake that forecasts the future of Nepal and the Nepali people. [break]
It seems as if too many cooks has been participating in the making of a cake but hardly anyone can assume what kind of flavor would Nepali people get once it’s taken out of the oven because we, ordinary citizens, are aware what out Netas are made up of.
What could be more embarrassing for any Nepali than when one of the ministers ask for a bribe with the International Telecom Company for allowing them to import equipments needed for the company? If anyone asks me it’s bizarre and I assume it’s the same for rest of you who heard about it.
Last week at work, a colleague of mine asked me where am I from? I told him that I was from Nepal. I was not surprise when he politely asked me where and what Nepal is like.
I did not elaborate, I just explained the presence of Mount Everest and Nepal as the birth place of Gautam Buddha but deliberated myself by briefly explaining Nepal as a country with a lot of corrupt Netas and Sarkari Karmacharya (government officials) including Police personnel who are assigned jobs to protect the peoples but are in fact, looting them.
The most shocking news for me was hearing respected official of the Nepal Police involved in misusing the money that had been collected from the people who were caught drunk driving. I am sure my colleague got puzzled with my answer.
Tell me! What else do I need to be ashamed of? Don’t get me wrong because of the way I explained Nepal this time.
Basically, it was all my frustration and disappointment that I felt for the Netas and Sarkari Karmacharis whom I once believed in to make the New Nepal!
Despite of all the frustration I feel, I would still say that the future of Nepal seems to be in a very dynamic situation with the hope of a new Constitution.
I would assume that there are some people who already know what type of Constitution is being draft. I personally don’t. If I had to, all I would want is for everyone to be accommodated for so that no Nepali has to bear the expense of paying vattas to 601 Sabhasads anymore.
I wonder if they even feel guilty stealing from their own Nepali citizens. I hope upcoming generations are not compelled to define the word “Neta” like me and many from my generation.
