SIRAHA, Jan 30: Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has claimed that he is the first member of parliament in Nepal to establish and run a fully functional constituency office. He made the remarks while addressing a campaign event in Siraha‑4 on Thursday.
“I am the first MP in Nepal to operate a systematic parliamentary office,” Thapa said. “My office is here, and citizens can visit anytime to raise their concerns. Even in Kathmandu, I maintain a Siraha‑4 office to ensure matters are addressed promptly. Many of your issues are resolved directly through these offices.”
18 district offices become non-functional
Thapa also reaffirmed his commitment to regularly visit Siraha and coordinate with his constituency office. He said his team includes specialists in education, health, agriculture, and irrigation, and added that an IT team is scheduled to reach Siraha‑4 on Thursday.
Based on reports prepared by his team, Thapa said he has mapped out his five-year work plan. “I aim to make Siraha‑4 the best-performing constituency among the 32 in the Madhesh region,” he stated.
