KATHMANDU, July 23: Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal, Kamal Thapa, has stressed that people's submission on the first of the new constitution should be incorporated in the final draft.

Taking part in a face-to-face programme organised by the Reporters' Club Nepal in the capital city Thursday, Chairman Thapa said people's demand for scrapping secularism and restoring the Hindu state raised spontaneously across the country should be addressed in the new constitution. The RPP-Nepal is not against the new constitution, but it will struggle till the eleventh hour in a bid to establish party agenda in the constitution.

People have voiced for directly elected executive head and the Nepali Congress should be flexible on it, while the CPN (UML) and the UCPN (Maoist) should stick to their agenda, he suggested.

Meanwhile, the party has demanded an investigation into the attack on party Chair Thapa, lawmaker Ganesh Thapa and Makwanpur district Chair Nawaraj Bista that took place at Hetauda on July 21. They were there to collect people's opinions on the draft constitution.

Party Chief Whip Dilnath Giri, demanding time at today's meeting of the Legislature-Parliament, demanded a probe into the assault on party leaders. RSS
