KATHMANDU, Sept 15: The Technical Committee of the Special Committee on Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of the Maoist Combatants submitted its report to Prime Minister and Chairman of the Committee Madhav Kumar Nepal on Tuesday, said committee member Dipak Prakash Bhatta.

The report suggests a civilian mechanism to bring the combatants under the command of the special committee through a set of code of conduct for the combatants. The mechanism comprises civil servants, ex-army and police officials and representatives of the Maoist combatants. Such a mechanism will be established at cantonments to supervise the activities of the combatants, according to the report.

The mechanism and the code of conduct will be effective only if the special committee approves it.
