The teachers said they decided that the annual examination of the schools will be halted and teachers will not be involved in SLC examination as well.[break]
The teachers of Sunsari made this declaration after interaction with headmasters of schools affiliated with the Dharan, Itahari and Duhabi Resource Centres in Itahari organized under the initiative of the Joint Educational Agitation Committee Sunsari.
They have demanded vacancies for school staff, temporary, relief quota and child facilitators be made permanent, and text books be available in time.
Member of the Nepal Teachers Union (NTU) National Committee Damodar Dahal who was involved in the interaction said the teachers should agitate with patience as they are the responsible citizens of the society.
Present in the program were chairman of the All Nepal Teachers Organisation (ANTO), Sunsari, Keshav Subedi, Chairman of the Nepal Teachers Union Sunsari Govind Mishra, among others.
They also agreed to withdraw the agitation if talks are successful in the central level.
