In the absence of such center, taxpayers in the district had to travel to Bhaktapur to get tax related services.
Shanta Raj Subedi, joint-secretary of the Ministry of Finance (MoF), said the government has adopted the policy of expanding taxpayer´s service to rural parts of the country in a bid to bring more people under tax net.
Speaking on the occasion, Tanka Mani Sharma, director general of Inland Revenue Department (IRD), said the number of such centers has reached 26 across the country, including 13 in the capital.
According to Deepak Kharel, chief of Bhaktapur IRO, a total of 6,000 entrepreneurs from Kavre have registered themselves for income tax and 1,200 for VAT.
