Taxi entrepreneurs positive to withdraw agitation

KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Taxi drivers, who have been launching demonstrations in the capital against the government decision to open new registration of more taxies in the valley, have said that they were ready to withhold the ongoing strike.

The move of the taxi drivers follows 'positive results' of the talks being held with the government officials.


Prakash Basnet, chairman of the struggle committee, said that they were ready to come to the consensus concerning their agitation as the government was ready to form a committee to probe the issue regarding new registration for more taxies.

Rabindra Nath Shrestha, Chief of the Construction and Transport Division at the Ministry of Physical Planning and Transport, said that the talks with the agitating group were positive and that they would reach a consensus soon. RSS
