Taplejung strike ends

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: The UCPN (Maoist) withdrew its general strike in Taplejung after 15 days, following a three-point agreement with the local administration on Monday afternoon.

The Maoists had called the strike, demanding release of cadres who were arrested on the charge of vandalizing the District Administration Office and the Land Revenue Office during a previous strike.



They had also demanded martyr´s status for three cadres killed in Bara district by an unidentified gang on January 6.
