Nembang had reached the prime minister´s residence on Wednesday to press the latter to expedite the peace process. [break]
After the meeting with the prime minister, Nembang said, “The prime minister assured me that the major tasks of the peace process and constitution writing would conclude by Falgun (in the next two weeks). He assured me that this was not just an empty promise.”
Nembang said he is optimistic as the top leaders are holding continuous meetings to resolve contentious issues since Thursday.
Nembang complained with the prime minister, who also heads the Special Committee that is mandated to oversee the tasks of peace process, about lack of tangible progress in the integration of former Maoist combatants.
Leaders from major opposition parties -- including Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML -- have clearly said that the task of constitution writing cannot move ahead without first integrating the Maoist combatants.
Nembang said he drew the prime minister´s attention toward the failure of CA´s Constitutional Committee (CC) and dispute resolution subcommittee to come up with results.
