Surya Nepal youth camp 'a boon' for emerging talents

KATHMANDU, Aug 22: The NGA Junior Golf Development Programme being conducted by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd has been "a boon" for the budding golfers of Nepal and is surely one of the best success stories of the country in terms of nurturing golfing talents, said a press statement issued by Surya Nepal on Wednesday.



According to the press statement, the Camp of Excellence -- a part of the Junior Golf Development Program -- being held at Gokarna Golf Club, shows that golf in Nepal is taking major strides.[break]



Bikash Bogati has clearly emerged as the best of the lot while leading the NGA Order of Merit with Dinesh Prajapati in the third place. The other notable names include Ashish Pariyar, Michael Rai and Bishnu Sharma.



These players who were spotted by the talent hunt committee struggled for two meals a day. Today they have overcome their shortcomings, said the press statement.



The young golfers were trained by young professionals after which the exceptionally talented players were selected for an excellence training camp.
