KATHMANDU, Aug 30: Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala is set to visit China from September 8. She will hold talks with Chinese authorities and high-level communist party leaders including her counterpart and and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao during her September 8-13 China visit.

Foreign ministry sources said Sujata will try to persuade the Chinese side on some "concrete understanding" in a few areas of bilateral cooperation, including Chinese investment in various sectors in Nepal like water resources, tourism, agriculture, industry, science and technology and increase Chinese assistance to Nepal.

She will also "push for" completion of the much-delayed Outer Ring Road Project which is supposed to be built with the Chinese.

A close aide to Koirala said the controversial Peace and Friendship Treaty proposed by China last year to then Maoist-led government would not figure in the talks.

Meanwhile, a 17-member Chinese delegation headed by the politburo and central committee member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Zhang Gaoli, is arriving in Kathmandu on Monday. The delegation will meet the President, the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister and leaders of major political parties, the Chinese embassy said.
