KATHMANDU, Aug 18: The handwriting on a note found with the body of a college girl has been verified by Nepal Police forensic lab as her own.

Apsara Regmi, 20, from Jitpurphedi of Kathmandu was found dead in a jungle of Chapali last week.

Her family has alleged that a soldier, Lal Bahadur Karki, and a journalist, Hari Pratigya, were involved in the murder. She was a +2 student of NR College, Balaju. Both Karki and Pratigya were arrested by police following a complaint lodged by the family.

Police had sent the suicide note to the forensic lab to verify the handwriting. "The lab reported that the hand-writing was her own," said an officer at Metropolitan Police Circle Maharajgunj. "But the postmortem of the body has failed to determine the cause of the death. We have been given a report that says ´unascertained´." According to him, viscera report has yet to come.
