Students clash at RR campus

KATHMANDU, Sept. 2: Ratna Rajya (RR) Campus remained tensed Friday after a dispute between ANNISU (Revolutionary) and ANNFSU leading to vandalism.



The ANNISU (Revolutionary) resorted to vandalism accusing the ANNFSU of breaking up the padlocking it had carried out at the campus administration.[break]



It may be noted that the ANNISU (Revolutionary) has been padlocking the administration of the campus, accusing it of irregularities in the Free Students´ Union elections held in 2009.



Furniture and other official documents of the campus were damaged when a team led by Central Secretariat member of ANNISU (Revolutionary), Surendra Basnet resorted to vandalism.



Meanwhile, FSU President of the Campus, Raj Kumar Rai has accused the sides indulging in vandalism of looting cash and documents of students´ enrollment, and urged them to return it back.



Rai also said that damage worth a hundred thousand rupees was incurred in the incident.



Meanwhile, the ANNFSU Central Committee and ANNFSU RR Campus Unit have protested the act of vandalism carried out in an educational institution.



Speaking at a press conference organized here today, President of ANNFSU, Madhav Dhungel said no organization should resort to vandalism inside an educational institution and demanded that the government bring those involved in the act to justice.
