An alliance of the student unions organized a press conference in the capital city to share that they were going to call on the Prime Minister on May 14 to draw his attention towards the issue.
Ranjit Karna, President of Nepal Students' Union, shared that the student unions' alliance would also set joint meetings at district level to form a joint monitoring team and form another joint team comprising parents of the affected students on May 16 for the same.
President Karna further said that there was no alternative to protest as various associations of the private boarding schools, despite signing an agreement to waive fee during the meetings with the Ministry of Education, failed to bring them to effect.
The associations of private boarding schools earlier on 19 April had agreed to adjust the fee-hike but have been reluctant to translate it into action.
Kishore Bikram Malla, President of ANNFSU, Ramesh Malla, Coordinator of ANNFSU (Revolutionary), Kapaleshower Yadav, President of Madheshi Students Forum (Democratic), among representatives from other student unions stated that they would continue with the protest unless their demands were heeded.
