KATHMANDU, Sept 29: Student unions have asked the United Nations to resolve the current crisis in Nepal caused by unofficial blockade imposed by India for the past few days.

Representatives of nine student unions submitted a memorandum to United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in Nepal, Jamie McGoldrick on Tuesday urging the UN to carry out necessary efforts to end the blockade imposed by India. The memo states that UN should resolve the current crisis as the blockade has deprived the country from all necessary goods and gasoline and there is going to be a large humanitarian crisis.

They have even criticized the UN for remaining silent on the looming humanitarian crisis due to the Indian blockade.
