In a bid to ensure that visitors do not have to wait in long queues to get tickets, CAN has introduced online ticket booking system for the event. “People can buy tickets through www.caninfotech.org.np and www.can.org.np. In addition to that, we have arranged four ticket counters at the event venue,” Pant added.
CAN has fixed entrance fee at Rs 100 for general visitors and Rs 50 for students. Besides, the association will provide free entrance to students of government schools if they produce a request letter from their respective schools.
Apart from CAN websites, nLocate - a mobile application - will help visitors locate the exact position of the stalls and products they want. Like wise, customers can also get information about the services and products through SMS.
“To get information about the event through SMS, customers will have to type the name of the brand or service they want information about and text it to 5001,” said Pant.
Companies dealing on hardware sales and maintenance, power solution, mobile accessories, telecommunication firms and ISPs, ICT training and colleges, and software developers, among others will be displaying their products and services at the Info-Tech.
According to the organizers, exhibitors will showcase interesting products like palm-sized projectors and mini projectors, hybrid inverters, latest mobile phones and tablets with Window 8 operating system, shock-proof hard drive, passport drive, security device, and camera among others. Different companies are providing up to 35 percent discount on computer peripherals and gift hampers.
The Info-Tech will have a total of 220 stalls, including 40 branding pavilions.
CAN is also organizing 13th ICT Conference on the sidelines of the event. The conference will be held on the theme ´Promoting e-Democracy in Nepal´ on February 8 and 9. It will feature speakers from countries like Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore and Bangladesh, among others, according to CAN.
The organizers have expected footfall of 500,000 this year. Last year, the event had attracted 421,000 visitors.
