SSP Neupane's body being brought to capital

KATHMANDU, Aug 25: The body of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Laxman Neupane, who lost his life in Tikapur clash, is being brought in helicopter to the capital for final rites.

SSP Neupane's family, who lives at Sinamangal, is making preparation for his final rites. According to Nepal Police Spokesperson Kamal Singh Bam, his final rites will be held at Pashupati Aryaghat with gun salute today itself.


The bodies of the other security personnel are being kept in Kailali as they come that area.

Eight people including SSP Neupane and a two-year-old minor were killed in the clash with Tharuhat demonstrators yesterday.

The district administration office has clamped curfew indefinitely in Tikapur municipality including other 10 VDCs in Kailali district.

Following the Tikapur incident, the government has declared Kailali  as conflict zone. With the declaration of conflict zone, Nepal Army personnel have also been deployed to the area to prevent further untoward incidents.
