35th national table tennis kicks off in Dhangadhi
DHANGADHI: Nepal Police Club advanced to the semifinals of the 35th National Table Tennis Championship in the women´s team event on the opening day of the four-day tournament in Dhangadhi on Tuesday. APF Club, Kaski and Bhaktapur also made it to the semifinals of the tournament jointly organized by the All Nepal Table Tennis Association (ANTTA) and Kailali District Table Tennis Association (KDTTA), according to Dinesh Chataut, member of KDTTA. Chaturananda Baidya, president of ANTTA, said that altogether 160 players from 27 districts and two departmental teams are competing in the event.
During the event, 80 men and as many women will vie for eight gold, eight silver and 16 bronze medals in both the categories. The tournament features matches in men´s singles, women´s singles, men´s doubles, women´s doubles, mixed doubles and above 45 years age group.
