Taekwondo ace Deepak Bista, who won the fourth consecutive gold medal in Dhaka SAG, was adjudged best of the bests and awarded with Rs 15,000. Karateka Sunil Lama, Binod Shakya and Ganga Adhikari, taekwondo star Ayasha Shakya, wushu player Binita Maharjan and Aang Babu Lama as well as marathoner Rajendra Bhandari had won gold in Dhaka SAG almost five months earlier. They received Rs 5,000 each and letters of appreciation.

KATHMANDU, July 1: Gurukul Public High School defeated JP School 4-1 during the ongoing Coca-Cola Cup Inter-school Boys National Football Tournament on Thursday at the Sano Gaucharan Ground, Kathmandu. Likewise, Amar School beat National United High School 4-3 in tiebreaker after the regulation time ended on 1-1 draw. Meanwhile, Snow Land Ranag thrashed Bal Bikash School 5-0 at the ANFA Technical Center, Chyashal. TIA, Guheshwari and Shramik Shanti Higher Secondary won their respective matches on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, July 1: Morgan set a final clash against Trinity ´C´ in boys´ category of the First Nobel Cup U-19 National 3-on-3 Basketball Tournaments while girls´ team of Morgan will take on Whitehouse ´A´ in the girls´ final. In boys´ class, Morgan thrashed Trinity ´B´ 34-20 in the semifinal played at the National Sports Council Covered Hall on Thursday. Trinity ´C´ pulled off a 33-31 victory over VS Niketan ´B´. Likewise, Morgan defeated NASA ´A´ 24-22 in girls´ semifinals, while Whitehouse ´A´ defeated own ´B´ team 29-25. The final will be played on Friday.

KATHMANDU, July 1: Bijeshwari School lead the medals tally in athletics during the Second President Cup Running Shield Tournaments organized by Kathmandu District Sports Development Committee. Bijeshwari won 10 gold, seven silver medals and a bronze. Deepjyoti School have seven gold, three silver and five bronze medals and the second position. Bijeshwari´s Bal Kumari Thapa stood first in the girls´ javelin throw while Gyani Chunara won gold in girls´ high jump. Jiwan Bal of Indra Dhanus secured the first place in boys´ high jump.
