SPORTS BRIEFS: 14-0 win for NIMS

KATHMANDU, July 26: Niten Memorial School (NIMS) produced a huge victory of 14-0 over Bright Future Secondary School during the Coca-Cola Cup Inter-school Girls´ National Football Tournament at the ANFA Technical Center Chyasal on Monday.



Bijaya Karki scored four goals while Mika Sunuwar and Sirjana Khadka also completed hat-tricks for the winning side. Saru Kumal added two goals while Laxmi Pariyar and Sangita Shrestha scored a goal each. [break]



Likewise, Arunima Higher Secondary School thrashed Brihaspati Bidya Sadan 5-1 in the second match of the day. Laxmi Tamang completed her hat-trick. Ranjita Tamang and Rukshya Phuyal also added a goal each for the winners. Anisha Gurung scored the consolation goal for Brihaspati.





NeBA publishes scholarship list



KATHMANDU, July 26: Nepal Basketball Association (NeBA) has published the list of boys and girls who have won HISSAN Scholarship through the NeBA Talent Hunt program. The scholarship list published on Monday includes 36 boys and 16 girls.



The selected players will get a chance to continue their +2 studies in 10 popular colleges in the Kathmandu Valley. White House, Columbus, Little Angels´, Bagmati, Kathmandu Valley and Prime colleges will each register six boys while VS Niketan, Nobel Academy, Xavier International and Morgan International each will host four girls.
