KATHMANDU, Aug 7: The scheduled meeting of the Special Committee for Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of Maoist Combatants was not held on Sunday.

Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal cited health reason for not attending the meeting. “The meeting was not held as PM was not well,” Balananda Sharma, the secretariat co-ordinator of the committee said.[break]

A meeting of the committee on Thursday had expressed commitment to return all Maoist combatants on duty as security guards for Maoist leaders to the cantonments.

The meeting also agreed to fix the number, modality and procedure of integration along with rehabilitation package within a week.
