Speaker urge parties to focus on peace, statute

KATHMANDU, March 25: Speaker Subhas Chandra Nembang on Sunday has urged all the party leaders and lawmakers not to leave the capital further delaying the ongoing peace and constitution drafting processes.



He also asked the parties to postpone all the scheduled general assembly’s underlining the need to devote time on concluding the twin tasks.[break]



A pressure group comprising of lawmakers formed to exert pressure on the government to complete the peace process and constitutional drafting process on time had met Nembang in the morning.



"We have achieved a lot, now is a time to stop criticizing and working towards greater achievements," Nembang said.



The team led by Yam Lal Kandel is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai later in the day to urge him to conclude the twin tasks on stipulated time.
