Songs for women

KATHMANDU, Aug 23: Kobid Sharan Upadhyay’s collection of songs for his book ‘Manche Bokshi Hunna Kahile’ was launched in the office of Nepal Women’s Commission on Friday. The collection of songs deals with the issue of violence against women and was inaugurated by the Chairman of Nepal Women’s Commission, Sheikh Chandtara.



The book contains more than a hundred songs, each of which is based on the violence done to women. Upadhyay says, “I’m trying to show through my work that violence against women in any form should not be condoned. One of my songs has been sung by Swaroop Raj Acharya, and its music video is in the making. It will be released soon.”



The book is priced at Rs 150.
