Snakebites claim two lives

KATHMANDU, Sept 1: Snakebites claimed two lives one each in Rasuwa and Saptari district today.

Kanchhi Maya Tamang, 41, of Samarthali VDC-5 in Rasuwa was killed after the snakebite due to lack of timely treatment. Local Dil Bahadur Lama said that the snake bit the woman at 2:00 am at her home.


Likewise, Kaushila Kumari Yadav, 16, of Rampura Malhaniya VDC in Saptari district died of snakebite, police said.

Yadav was bitten by a cobra snake on Monday while going to the vegetable nursery to provide water to her father. Police said that Yadav died this morning while receiving treatment. RSS
