KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Various parliamentary political parties have suggested the major three political parties to keep their alliance intact while forming the new government. Expressing their views in the all-party meet convened at prime minister's official residence at Baluwatar on Monday, most of them suggested major parties for resolving the existing crisis in the country through joint efforts.

The meeting focused on settling the ongoing protest in Tarai-Madhesh, opening the blockade on Nepal-India border and formation of the new government, participating leaders informed after the meeting."Leaders of various fringe parties suggested that present and any other national crisis should be solved through united efforts of the major three political parties," Nepali Congress leader and Minister for Forest, Mahesh Acharya informed. "To which major political party leaders have agreed."

CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel also echoed the same. "All parties had unanimous voice that major three parties should keep their alliance intact even after the promulgation of the new constitution," said Pokhrel.

Fringe party leaders also inquired of any gentlemen's agreement on the formation of the new government among the major three parties, said UCPN (Maoist) Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

"In response chiefs of CPN-UML and UCPN (Maoist) informed them that three parties had reached an understanding that the incumbent NC-led government would promulgate the new constitution and that the post-constitution government would be formed in the leadership of CPN-UML, while forging the 16-point agreement in June," he said.

"While not refuting such claims and stressing on the need of cooperation and dialogue among major political parties, Prime Minister Sushil Koirala said that his party's central committee would discuss the issue and take a decision in this regard," Shrestha said quoting the PM. NC's central committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday. The three major parties leaders agreed to meet again after holding internal discussions.

Members of the talk-team formed by major three parties to hold discussion with agitating madhes based parties briefed the meeting about the progress made by it.
