KATHMANDU, July 9: Various small parties on Friday urged the big three -- UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML -- to ensure participation of all 25 parties in the CA to forge consensus.

A meeting of the small parties held at Singha Durbar concluded that consensus of small parties including the fourth largest political force in the country is a must to accomplish the tasks of constitution drafting and peace process. [break]

Talking to media persons after the meeting, Co-chairman of Rastriya Janashakti Party Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani said the need of the hour is a consensus government. He said small parties are seriously concerned over the apathy shown by big three parties to work toward that end.

The meeting attended by various 13 small parties in the CA has asked the leaders of the big three parties to rise above their partisan interests for the cause of peace and constitution.

The small parties urged the big three to hold further negotiations to settle issues related to the peace process as agreed in the three-point deal reached on May 28. They maintained implementation of the first point of the deal is a must to pave way for the formation of national consensus government.
