Six British soldiers killed in Afghanistan

KATHMANDU, March 7: Six British soldiers were killed in Afghanistan when their armored vehicle was hit by an explosion, The Telgraph reported on Wednesday.



The soldiers were killed on routine patrol northwest of Durai Junction, when their Warrior armored vehicle was caught in the blast at around 7pm on Tuesday evening, it said quoting the British defense ministry in London. [break]



It has also described the incident as ´the single biggest British loss of life in the Afghan campaign for six years,´ which brings the British death toll in the Afghan campaign to 404.



The Sun has reported that the missing soldiers included five from 3 Yorkshire Regiment and one from 1 The Duke of Lancaster´s Regiment.



The identities of the dead soldiers are still not clear.
