KATHMANDU, June 12: Nepal Swimming Association on Friday confirmed that Sirish Gurung will vie in 50m and 100m freestyle events at the FINA World Swimming Championship to be held in Russia from July 28 to August 8.

The championship also features as qualification for the Rio Olympics 2016. Likewise, Kiran Karki will take part in 50m and 100m breaststroke while Sofia Shah will take part in 50m and 200m freestyle and Gaurika Singh will compete in 100m freestyle and backstroke events.
Sirish and Sofia are preparing in Thailand for the championship, while Gaurika will prepare in England, where she has been living. Kiran will be under training in Nepal.
