KAPILVASTU, Feb 24: Daily life in Kapilvastu returned to normalcy on Wednesday after the Madhesi People´s Rights Forum withdrew its general strike that had crippled the life for four days.

The forum had imposed the shutdown to protest police manhandling of its cadres.

Transport services resumed and offices, markets and schools reopened on Wednesday after the party withdraw the shutdown following an agreement on Tuesday to recommend action against DSP of APF Prakash Majhi, who is accused of mistreating the forum cadres, and provide compensation to the people injured in ´police beating´ of the forum cadres.
