Shrestha wins CG President's Cup

KATHMANDU, March 30: Rabindra Man Shrestha scored 38 stableford points to win the CG President´s Cup golf tournament at the Chaudhary Udyog Gram Golf Course, Nawalparasi on Saturday. Shrestha, playing with seven handicap allowances, scored 21 points on the front nine and returned with 17 points on the back nine.



Chief of Army Staff Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana finished second defeating SK Singh on the countback after both the players scored 36 points. Rana scored 19 on the back nine against Singh´s 17. [break]



Tashi Ghale scored 28 gross points to claim the best gross award while Tenzing Palden scored 39 points to clinch the junior title. He also scored six birdies to take home the most birdies award.



Kalpana Limbu and Rekha Ghimire accumulated equal 30 points but Limbu scored 19 points on the back nine to clinch the ladies´ title. Rabindra Man Shrestha won the longest drive award, while Aditi Ghimire, who scored 37 points, won the award for closest to the pin.
