Rajendra Thakuri, who had played for Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) in the British Gurkha Cup two years ago, scored after just 10 seconds to provide an early lead to Shamsher Dal. Thakuri struck his second in the 15th minute before Shankar Karki sealed the match with a third for Shamsher Dal. The winning team bagged Rs 25,000. Altogether 17 battalions had participated in the internal tournament of the Nepal Army.
