Shahi, who carded six-under 66 on the first day and three-over 75 on the second, has a total of three-under 213 and he is four strokes ahead of Nepal No 1 Shiva Ram Shrestha. [break]
Defending champion Shrestha carded four-under 68 for the total of one-over 217 to climb up to second position.
Shahi carded three straight birdies from the first hole against three consecutive bogeys from the sixth hole on the front nine to take the turn at even-par 36. On the back nine, Toran suffered a double bogey against birdies on the 14th and 18th holes to finish the last nine holes at even-par 36.
Shrestha played three-under 33 on the front nine that included birdies on the third, fourth and seventh. On the back nine, Shiva Ram carded a birdie on the 12th hole and saved pars on other eight holes to finish the last nine holes at one-under 35.
Ramesh Adhikari played a round of even-par 72 for a total of 218 to remain third. Deepak Neupane carded two-over 74 for the total of four-over 220 to stay fourth, while Umesh Nagarkoti, who carded two-under 70, climbed up to fifth with the total of 221.
Sanjay Lama played a round of 77 and slipped to sixth at 222, while Rabi Khadka (72) is seventh with the score of 223. Ram Krishna Shrestha (71) is eighth at 226, while Ram Thapa (77) and CB Bhandari (74) shared the ninth position at 227.
In Amateur section, Tashi Tsering played a round of three-under 69 for a total of four-over 220 to take a five-stroke lead over Bhuwan Gurung, who shot 73 on Wednesday.
The last round of the 11th and final event of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2011-12 is slated for Thursday. The winner will receive Rs 80,000.
