KATHMANDU, Nov 16: The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the recommendation committee formed to nominate board members in Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) to stop its work until a final verdict in the case is issued.

Issuing an interim order, the apex court also asked the officials of Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) and the Cabinet secretariat to be present at the court for the next hearing.

Advocate Naryan Devkota had moved the apex court, arguing that the formation of the committee was against the Telecommunication Act.

The recommendation committee led by Information Secretary Shreedhar Gautam has joint-secretary Sushil Kumar Ojha and Business Manager of Nepal Telecom (NT) Pramod Pramal as members.
