Rs 20 m revenue from 50,000 traffic violations

CHITWAN, July 29: The District Traffic Police Office (DTPO), Chitwan has collected Rs 20 million revenue from over 50 thousands of traffic violations in the last fiscal year.

The revenue has increased by Rs 15 million this year compared to the previous fiscal year. Police had collected Rs 24.991 million revenue in the fiscal year 2071/72 while Rs 10.43 in the fiscal year 2070/71.

traffic2According to the record maintained at the DTPO, Chitwan, the highest revenue Rs 10 million had been collected from actions taken against 91,600 motorcycles.

Similarly, Rs 678,700 revenue had been collected by taking action against over 13,000 trucks while Rs 4.7 million collected from 7,000 buses.

Police have also expedited actions against the drunk driving in the district.
