The event started off with an introduction to the revolution radio by RJ Asish Syangden and radio legend Michael Chand from Radio Nepal. [break]
After a short visual introducing the radio members, the event progressed to musical performances by Hemant Rana, Albatross, Subani Moktan, 1974 AD and Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory.
“It’s a very new idea that started in Manoj’s bedroom,” shared Ashish Syangden, adding, “We used to stream music from his bedroom until we decided to expand. We met Cabinet Shrestha who immediately jumped aboard and with his help; we started an office at Moksh.”
Revolution radio, run by Asish and Prasan Syangden, Manoj KC and Cabinet Shrestha, is a radio stream that runs on the internet.

The station provides different genres of music depending on what you want to listen to. The station currently streams dance, blues, metal, Nepali adhunik, Nepali folk, pop and rock music.
The online radio also offers live shows from their studio at Moksh which will be hosted by voices at Revolution Radio, like Yanik Shrestha, Samriddhi Rai, and Sumita Gurung.
Revolution Radio is made possible by their internet provider Subisu Cablenet and their marketing and promotions partner, The Himalayan Times.
“Revolution radio was a very new and innovative idea that we had no knowledge about but it was a new way of expression and we wanted to explore and be a part of this new upcoming future,” said Grihendra Munankarmi, Senior manager at The Himalayan Times.
